We are excited to announce our cafe and ministry centre is now open!
Hi everyone, it’s great to be back in Thailand, we spent the last few month in Australia having our first baby! His name is Kit and he has happily settled into Bangkok. We have lots of exciting things coming up including our new café building which we are currently renovating and we plan to launch public services in this café building very soon. Please pray for us and we will keep you updated with all the news.
Genevieve interviews our good friend Turbo, who as a child was sponsored by Compassion. Turbo is a passionate and committed Christian and an active evangelist in our local university. Praise God for great Christian organisations like Compassion.
As you already know we have a vision to start a ministry cafe, so we decided to interview Henry Mononen who has already started a ministry cafe in downtown Bangkok. We talked to Henry about his experiences establishing and leading his cafe, and about his vision and progress so far.
For more information about Henry’s cafe, the Entrance Coffee House and Studio visit their Facebook page.
Our church plant is progressing well. We have recently started Sunday meeting in our house and we hope to launch public service soon. Our monthly gatherings and connect groups are continuing to grow and we are also seeing many open doors at the university. Please keep praying for our church plant.
We are blessed to have an endorsement from Ps Phil Pringle as launch C3 Church Bangkok.
We had an excellent opportunity to go on a three day English camp with our local university. We had a great time getting to know the students and university staff. Of the 90 students who attended we found several who were interested and open to the Gospel. Please pray that we can continue these relationships and share the Gospel with these students and staff.
The first C3 Bangkok gathering was on the 20th of December. We brought together all our connect groups and filled our house with friends, neighbors, university students and lecturers. We preached the Gospel, sung carols, prayed and ate dinner together. It was a great night!
One of our main outreaches is into our local university. We have found English teaching to be an effective way to connect with students, we teach conversational English weekly as well as holding other outreach events.
We would like to thank all our supporters, we could not be here without your generous donations. You are all a huge blessing to us.
Thailand is a busy and exciting place to live, with markets, delicious foods, crazy traffic but sadly many social challenges and a desperate need for God. The first missionaries came to Thailand about 500 years ago but there has been little impact for the Gospel in society. Thailand is predominantly Buddhist with less than 1% of people being Christian. Please join us in prayer for this nation.
We, Daniel and Genevieve Nihill, clearly felt the Lord call us to plant a C3 Church in Bangkok. We have been living here for two years, learning the Thai language, studying the culture and serving in local Thai churches and we feel now is the time to start C3 Church Bangkok. We are planting in the area of Chankasem, which has a large university and many young people. We are believing God for a healthy, growing, vibrant church. A church which is authentically Thai and truly C3. Our vision is to start this first church and then train Thai people to plant churches all over Bangkok and throughout Thailand.
